Get to know Cheryl
Cheryl Benedict is thrilled to announce her SABA award win for Best New Author, in December, 2020 for her debut book, The Wisdom of Transition.
At the time her book was published in early January 2020, Cheryl had no idea how relevant her book would become as the entire world found itself immersed in the shared experience of Covid-19. Her readers quickly discovered the wisdom from her book could be applied beyond navigating change at work into other areas of life when transitions are also beyond control- from hospital stays to dealing with a global pandemic.
Cheryl provided countless all-company webinars throughout the year to inspire employees to have patience with themselves, teams at work, continue being a leader during this unprecedented time in our history, and how to lead as a woman during this global crisis.
Through MORF Consulting, Cheryl is committed to inspiring her clients to think creatively and to make distinctive, enduring and significant improvements to their lives, their firm, the industry, and the world.
Her work with engineering, water, architecture, and construction firms has included the design and delivery of leadership development programs, executive coaching, succession planning, strategic planning, team-building, emerging leaders programs, and all-employee change and transition sessions.
For Water Education Colorado, Cheryl designed and facilitated the last 9 years of the “Water Leaders Program” which provides water professionals the opportunity to maximize their leadership potential with a focus on water resources issues. The Water Leaders benefit from extensive self- assessment, executive coaching, and 8 highly interactive days of leadership training.
Cheryl specializes in coaching leaders and their teams through an effective focus on the people side of the business. Cheryl is an expert in the use of numerous assessment instruments and cultivates deep and sustainable trust with clients.
She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S. in Psychology and B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She received a Master Certificate in Human Resource Management from Villanova University.
A former Vice President of Organizational Development, she has experience in conducting employee engagement surveys, designing and managing corporate universities, implementing diversity training initiatives, and designing individual employee development plans.
